Unconventional. Uncomplicated.
The ceremony is usually around ten 10 minutes long. The vows are civil and non-denominational. A cornerstone of my philosophy is that I'm flexible. I'm happy to include a prayer, acknowledge a loved one who could not attend, include your children, etc.
I'm very happy to help you personalize your ceremony any way you want. I've presided over several ceremonies where the family pet was the ring bearer for example. There was even a clothing optional ceremony recently.
You may review samples of the vows I use (see the Vows), create your own or customize what I use to your tastes. Once a couple requested I read 3 pages of sonnets that were thrust in my hands moments before the ceremony. (Generally I ask that you email your custom vows 14 days before the ceremony, double spaced really helps too.) Still, we had fun with the sonnets and the ceremony brought smiles to everyone. I think Shakespeare would have been proud of me.
Doves are a lovely way to add a touch of peace and joy to any ceremony.
If you are including photography or video please allow additional time. Generally I suggest we begin the ceremony at sunrise for morning weddings that include photography and about 1 hour before sunset for sunset for evening weddings. This allows for maximum use of the best light. While I do ceremonies at any time of day, mid day tends to be the
harshest light and finding shade is essential for good photographs, with no squinting!
Timing will vary depending on the size of your party and the various services you arrange. For small parties of fewer than 10 persons, we can take 15 to 30 minutes from these times, for larger parties and as much.
